Brisket & Beans

Good, hearty winter dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. corned beef brisket
  • 1 pkg. dried navy beans
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tblsp. molasses
  • 2 tsp. French's Spicy Brown Mustard
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • Spice packet included with corned beef (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Soak beans overnight in cold water.

Step 2

Drain beans and cover with fresh water, heat to boiling, and drain.

Step 3

Place meat, beans, and sliced onions in roasting pan.

Step 4

Mix remaining ingredients with one cup boiling water, and pour over meat.

Step 5

Bake (covered) at 250 degrees for six hours.

Step 6

Uncover and bake one hour longer.
