CrockPot Spaghetti Sauce

Hide the veggies from your children and honey with this one! Kids clamor for more, guests want your recipe and it's a breeze to cook! Start it in the morning and come home to a wonderful smell.
Freeze the extras for a quick dinner later. Can also be used for lasagna sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 2 cans tomato paste
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 1.5 lbs fresh sausage (we get ours at the butcher shop)
  • 1 small red onion
  • 4 cloves garlic diced or 2 TB garlic
  • 1 bag frozen spinach
  • 4 carrots grated
  • 1 zucchini grated
  • .5 lb diced mushrooms
  • 1 can sliced olives
  • 1/4 tsp anise seed*
  • 1/2 tsp basil*
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp majoram*
  • 1/4 tsp thyme*
  • 1/4 tsp rosemary*
  • OR 1 1/2 tsp premade Italian seasoning

Directions

Step 1

Make sure the sausage is either in meatballs or smooshed into the sauce as fine as possible for meat sauce.

Step 2

Add All the ingredients

Step 3

Stir well

Step 4

Cook for 4 hours on Med

Step 5

Cook for 6-8 on Low

Step 6

Add 1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning, stir, then serve with your favorite GF pasta.
